Unbelieveable!
One of drum's greatest influences...
His work with Joni (hi-hat) will
endure forever....
RIP, John...

He played some killer fills on that Zappa stuff. Punchy as hell.
And on Wild Things Run Fast, the track he played on is just perfect, IMO.

Christ, that's shocking! I was looking at his profile at drummerworld only the other day. I had no idea. R.I.P Mr.Guerin
I've heard several records where his famous L.A express groove was sampled( can't think of the name of that tune). He had the funkiest hihat sound ever, so dark.

How sad. I had no idea. I enjoyed his work with Tom Scott and grew up watching and hearing the music to Hawaii Five-O.

Randy,
It was news to me, when I heard it today. I did not notice it on the board but I have been skimping of late. Apologies to you and the original poster.
Enough can't be said about Guerin's contributions, though. He was a fabulous drummer - one of the best session men in my book and a real innovator in respects.
I will miss him a lot.

Wow!
One of my main influences when I first started playing. Very sorry to hear that he has pasted.
